Transform Your Wardrobe: Marion's Journey with Personal Styling for Diverse Needs

Marion began her personal styling journey with us last year, and her experience has been nothing short of transformative. As someone who navigates life in a wheelchair due to spina bifida, Marion has always faced unique challenges in finding outfits that suit her lifestyle while also reflecting her sunshine personality. That’s where our course, Personal Styling for Yourself, stepped in.

WHY MARION CHOSE THIS COURSE

Marion had been watching Melissa's YouTube channel for a while before she decided to take the plunge into our personal styling course. She knew Melissa's style and what she could potentially do to help her redefine her wardrobe in a way that worked better for her. The course’s promise to help create a versatile, mix-and-match capsule wardrobe that caters to her lifestyle was a major draw.

HER LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Throughout the course, Marion discovered the ins and outs of dressing for her body shape and balancing proportions. Although she is a wheelchair user, The Hourglass Balancing Method® is still an effective tool. It taught Marion how to make the most of her figure and experiment with fashion in a way she had never done before. It revolutionised her approach to fashion and the way she shops for clothes. “I learned a lot during the course, and although I don’t always get it right, I certainly have fun trying,” she says. Her newfound knowledge and confidence have encouraged her to experiment more with her outfits, particularly with dresses, which she now loves. She usually adds a belt to better define her figure and has moved from high neck tops to v-necks, which flatter her upper body. Marion also wears jewellery more often than she used to and takes pleasure in accessorising her outfits, making sure she is dressed from "head to toe" as Melissa would say.

THE JOY OF DISCOVERY

Marion’s experience of the course has led to a liberating shift in her personal taste and style. “It’s amazing how much my style has changed thanks to the personal styling course,” she says. This course not only equipped her with the skills to improve her wardrobe in a way that truly works for her, but it also brought back the joy of dressing up every day. Marion says, "I often wore trousers and high-neck tops that didn't really suit me. I know what looks good and what makes me feel good now. I often get compliments on my style, and I enjoy sharing my newfound knowledge with others."

A MESSAGE FROM MARION TO FUTURE STUDENTS

“If you’re contemplating whether to take this course, I would recommend giving it a go.” The course is made up of instructional videos presented by Melissa and supported by detailed explanations. You can learn at your own pace and ensure you have consolidated your knowledge before moving on to the next chapter. Melissa and her team are also on hand to answer any questions via discussion boards throughout the course. Marion tells us that the course is ideal for anyone looking to elevate their style, including people with reduced mobility and diverse needs. One of the case studies in our course features Nic, who is awaiting a kidney transplant and wears a 2 metre catheter to enable her to have dialysis treatments at home. Melissa was able to accommodate this and style Nic according to her lifestyle needs, as you'll see when you sign up for our course.

Marion has been a star student. Her determination to make her personal style her own shines through. As you can see from the before and after photos, she has certainly achieved her styling goals through Personal Styling for Yourself. Her experience is a testament to Melissa's firmly held view that "style is for everyone, not just those with perfect proportions". If you're ready to transform your wardrobe and boost your confidence, just as Marion did, join us. A new you is just a few clicks away!
